Oh, what a wonderful time of year! Each year the holiday season is filled with get-togethers, potlucks, and dinner parties. And that means they’re filled with food! If you’re not careful, it’s easy to eat a few too many snacks for guests and gain an extra five or ten pounds—which you can then resolve to burn off in the gym after New Years!

This weight gain is a common symptom of the holidays. Even starting with Halloween candy in October, then cruising through Thanksgiving, and in full swing by Christmas/Chanukkah/Kwanzaa, our diets are bombarded with various snacks for holidays.  And lots of times, especially fixing up last minute snacks for guests, you may find yourself setting out some pinwheels or gingerbread men that are not, shall we say, optimally configured to your guests’ nutrient needs.

This is where our flavor gurus at HOPE Hummus decided to step in.  Hummus is an invaluable resource for creating healthy and delicious snacks for the holidays, especially when you’re rushing to make quick snacks for unexpected guests! So this season, worry not… and spend your New Year’s resolution on something fun, while everyone else is crowding into the gym!

But fear not—these festive little trees  are a cinch to make, and to let children decorate! Simply stick a pretzel stick into a slice of pizza crust or pita bread, top it with HOPE Green Chile Guacamole, and let the kiddies go to town with various colored slices of bell pepper.
